Francis String is a talented guitarist, composer, and lead vocalist known for blending contemporary instruments with traditional Tanzanian chants and dances. Growing up in Temeke, Dar es Salaam, he was influenced by the rich cultural heritage of local artists, particularly the traditional dances of the Makonde, Zaramo, Mwela, and Ngoni. His music transcends genre boundaries, skillfully merging traditional Tanzanian sounds with global influences like reggae, jazz, funk, and blues, creating a unique and captivating style that honours his roots while appealing to modern audiences.
Chuma Mbili – as a master percussionist and traditional African dance instructor with over 23 years of professional experience. Haidari has performed at numerous events and festivals across Africa and internationally. His passion lies in preserving the rich cultural heritage of Tanzania by teaching regional drumming and dance from the country’s more than 120 local tribes.
