Karibu Mgeni (“Welcome, dear visitor”) at Dar Foto Fest invites viewers to rediscover the tradition of memory-keeping through photo albums. Marcus Davie uses his unique “painting with light” technique to blend cultural storytelling with abstract visuals, reflecting on how the shift from physical albums to digital photos impacts memory and connection.
Marcus Davie, a Tanzanian photographer, filmmaker, and law student, explores themes of youth, identity, and human connection. His work challenges the role of tradition in shaping collective memories.
