Moving chronologically across eras, this exhibition reclaims the written word as an act of agency — where the pen becomes a space of construction, testimony, and power. From past voices to contemporary expressions, each narrative invites close reading, curiosity, and introspection.

As you move through the exhibition, you are invited not only to listen, but also to respond — leaving behind your own message to power.

A space for reflection, dialogue, and transmission, “”Hapo mwanzo… alikuwepo mwanamke”” celebrates women’s words as living archives that continue to shape thought, identity, and society.
