After an inspiring and thought-provoking discussion in Bagamoyo at TASUBA college, Mitazamo Yetu continues its journey to the University of Dar es Salaam.
Join us for Frozen Power – a contemporary dance work inspired by Liti Kidanka, a female healer and resistance leader from Singida who opposed German colonial rule.
The performance explores women’s role in resistance and the restitution of human remains and cultural artefacts taken during colonial times.
The conversations in Bagamoyo reminded us how important Tanzanian perspectives are in shaping discussions around restitution. We now look forward to hearing the voices, ideas, and questions of students, young people and teachers at UDSM.
