JUMATANO GROOVE WITH SIMON WINSE (BURKINA FASO)

Simon Winsé was born in Lankoué, Burkina Faso, in 1981 on the border with Mali. He grew up in a rich cultural environment. In 2000,
he arrived in the Burkinabe capital Ouagadougou, and has learned how to play the ngoni, the kora and the Peul flute. Through these
traditional instruments Simon Winsé tries to bring back a spirituality that tends to disappear with modern life.
Nevertheless, he likes to surround himself with musicians from other horizons, taking up the challenge of a mutual understanding
beyond the different musical languages. A dialogue where each one brings what he is without misplaced fascination for the other’s culture.
