Mariangela Ratto work explores the layers of history, memory, ancestry, and everyday life that coexist within a place.
Through photography and different forms of intervention, she creates images in which past and present overlap, revealing stories that are not always visible at first glance.
She is interested in how places carry memories and how different cultures, people, and experiences shape our perception of the world.
During her travels and artistic residencies, she listens to local stories, observes everyday life, and collects elements from each place, transforming them into photographs and artist books.
