Jumatano Groove x STRIKE THE BEAT BATTLE with @dorine_mugisha
Experience a thrilling evening of dance exchanges at Jumatano Groove! Contestants will showcase their talent in two exciting categories:
• 1v1 Whacking Category: A bold and expressive dance style rooted in 1970s LA underground clubs. Pre-event workshops will be available to learn more about this dynamic art form.
Judge & Trainer: Dorine Mugisha (TZ/FR/UK) – @dorine_mugisha
• 2v2 All Styles Category: Celebrating diversity through Hiphop, Popping, Locking, and Afro styles. Dancers will be paired at random, with at least one female representative per team to promote equity.
Judges: Zora Snake (Cameroon), Ally Malambuka (TZ), Hadija Nasibu (TZ)
This event highlights the power of dance battles to build confidence, encourage individuality, and promote local talent. Witness unique styles rarely seen in Tanzania while supporting dancers in gaining recognition and networking.
Prizes:
• 1v1 Whacking: 1st Prize TZS 100,000 | 2nd Prize TZS 70,000
• 2v2 All Styles: 1st Prize TZS 200,000 | 2nd Prize TZS 150,000
• Dancer of the Night: TZS 30,000
