In his first solo exhibition, Extremely Loud Silence, artist Mihayo Kallaye draws from the liberation discourse, African philosophies, urban aesthetics, mass media and vectors of consumption. The result is an exhibition that opens up a conversation on the social and economic ambiguities within contemporary African society while inviting viewers to critically reflect on prevailing standards of knowledge and authority in their personal, public and spiritual lives.
