Jazz meets the musical traditions of Zanzibar this Tuesday, October 27, as Wakorofi Jazz Trio returns to Mr. Kahawa 🎷
Featuring acclaimed saxophonist Hassan Mahenge, the trio brings together jazz improvisation and the rich melodic influences of traditional taarab music.
Hassan is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and music educator who has performed and collaborated with musicians across the world. His musical journey spans African, Eastern and Western traditions, and you can hear those influences come together in Wakorofi’s distinctive sound.
