This Tuesday we welcome Zenji Boy Na Wenzake to the Mr Kahawa stage — one of Zanzibar’s most innovative musical voices.
Blending traditional Taarab with hip hop and rap, Zenji Boy creates what he calls ‘Taarap Fusion’. His songwriting is sharp and conscious, carrying messages of politics, love, unity, community, and social development.
Backed by a live band of talented musicians, he has earned respect at home and abroad for his energetic live performances, where he is often seen deftly wielding an oud or violin between his lyrical flows.
