A collaboration between Instituto Oikos (lead partner)\, Insituto Oikos East Africa and African Architecture Matters. \nThe project’s main objective is to make the main urban areas of North Pemba safe\, inclusive\, resilient and sustainable by promoting integrated urban development through a multi-stakeholder approach. Specifically\, the action aims at enhancing urban resilience in Wete and Micheweni urban areas by increasing access to basic services especially for women and children. \nAs part of the project\, African Architecture Matters is planning to upgrade a number of playgrounds and sport fields in Wete and Micheweni area using a participatory approach. DESCRIPTION:Pensée (Thought)\, created by visionary choreographer Darel Longundu from the Democratic Republic of Congo\, is a compelling exploration of the mental chains left by colonialism. The performance questions the true meaning of freedom\, urging the audience to examine Africa’s relationship with the Western world and the power dynamics at play. Each movement\, step\, and cry becomes a code that challenges the identity\, choices\, and pain of Africans\, calling for a collective awakening and liberation from the invisible shackles of colonisation.

His music is mainly characterized by African rhythms\, percussive sounds\, ambient drones\, and electronic synth sounds. He has found his musical influences in the likes of great African folk artists like Meiway\, Sally Nyolo\, Richard Bona\, and Francis Bebey\, as well as international figures in electronic composition include Pierre Henry\, Rone Hainbach\, Lucrecia Dalt\, HÈlËne Vogelsinger\, and PC Nackt. His latest album\, titled SHOCK\, was released earlier in 2023. SKRIIM is currently composing musical pieces for theater and contemporary dance artists. \nGOETHE MOBIARTS\nThe Goethe MobiArts project is a cultural program by the Goethe-Institut that enables artists from sub-Saharan Africa to tour the continent through its network of institutes and to enter dialogue with the local scenes.
