Of Tanzanian heritage\, born in France and living between the UK and Tanzania\, this influences her work and she speaks four languages. She grew up training in hip-hop and street styles\, later embracing Whacking/Punking\, a dance style emphasizing storytelling\, posing\, and sharp movements. \nMatthieu Nieto is a multidisciplinary artist using the performing arts to foster social change\, challenge cultural narratives\, and inspire self-transformation. He holds a Master’s degree in Performing Arts (2017) and a Bachelor’s in Dance (2015) from Paris 8 University. DESCRIPTION:JUMATANO GROOVE – Henry Mkanyia (TZ) 🎤🎶 \nHenry Mkanyia\, born in 1950 in Masasi\, southern Tanzania\, began his professional music career in 1964 with the T.Y.L (Tanu Youth League) Band. In 1970\, he moved to Dar es Salaam and joined Tanzania Jazz Band\, before switching to the army band JKT Kimbunga Stereo in 1971. As a guitarist-soldier\, he toured Zambia\, Uganda during the Iddi Amin war\, Tunisia\, and Germany\, sharing the stage with legendary bands like Bembea Jazz. In 1981\, Mkanyia joined DDC Mlimani Park Orchestra\, where he recorded some of the band’s most popular albums and toured internationally. From 2008 to 2019\, he performed and recorded with Swahili Blues\, touring across Kenya\, Uganda\, and Ethiopia.
