Inspired by the artist’s late mother and shaped by personal encounters with women across Tanzania\, VIFICHWAVYO is a heartfelt tribute to those who mother the world in often unseen ways. \nFrom food vendors and hairdressers to salt harvesters and stone crushers\, these women form the quiet backbone of their communities. Through intimate portraits and layered symbolism\, Gertrude invites us to see the labour\, love\, and presence of these women not as background noise\, but as essential forces of life.
