DESCRIPTION:The 2026 AMDA Biennial is born from movement\, dialogue and the shared pulse of East African contemporary dance. This first edition marks a historic moment: a gathering of artists\, ideas and practices across borders\, bringing together voices from Burundi\, DR Congo\, Kenya\, Rwanda\, South Africa\, Tanzania\, Uganda and the UK. Rooted in a region too often underrepresented on the international stage\, the Biennial creates space for East African creativity to be seen\, heard and encountered on its own terms.
