AMDA 2026 Dance Biennial
January 26

The 2026 AMDA Biennial is born from movement, dialogue and the shared pulse of East African contemporary dance. This first edition marks a historic moment: a gathering of artists, ideas and practices across borders, bringing together voices from Burundi, DR Congo, Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and the UK. Rooted in a region too often underrepresented on the international stage, the Biennial creates space for East African creativity to be seen, heard and encountered on its own terms. It opens a door for these practices to circulate beyond the region and enter global conversations while remaining grounded in local realities. Live shows from 29-31 January at Muda Kona. Stay tuned.
