Muda Africa tours Frozen Power – a contemporary dance work inspired by Liti Kidanka, a female healer and resistance leader from Singida, Tanzania who opposed German colonial rule.

The piece reflects on women’s role in resistance and the restitution of human remains and cultural artefacts taken during colonial times.

While debates around restitution continue across the Global North, Tanzanian voices are still rarely included in these conversations.
