DANCE OF THE STOLEN SOULS
A contemporary dance performance by SELAM
Dance of the Stolen Souls is a poetic reflection on the imagined journey of a child’s soul after being lost to war. Through movement, the performer guides the audience along this passage, embodying different stages, emotions, and transformations. Themes of memory, absence, resilience, and hope unfold through a powerful visual and emotional experience.
Rather than telling a single story, the piece creates a space for contemplation, exploring the traces left behind by lives interrupted by conflict and the ways in which they continue to resonate beyond their physical presence.
The evening will begin with a 6-minute performance by MUDA Africa students, followed by the main performance, Dance of the Stolen Souls (24 minutes).
Please note: This performance addresses themes related to war, loss, and grief and is intended for mature audiences.
