Join the workshop “The Race: Stop Motion Animation Workshop” with Konokono Collective (Sarah Brown and Greg Smith, from Canada ) on Thursday, July 18, and Friday, July 19, 2024, at NAFASI ARTS SPACE!
This immersive 2-day workshop will teach you the fundamentals of stop motion animation, including movement, speed, and the use of light and sound. Participants will get hands-on experience with Dragonframe software and practical animation skills.
Day 1:
Morning (9:00 am – 12:30 pm): Kick-off with a welcome session, followed by a presentation and live demonstration by Konokono Collective.
Afternoon (12:30 pm – 4:30 pm): Dive into animating characters in small groups, guided by Sarah and Greg, and create your own animation segments.
Day 2:
Morning (9:00 am – 12:30 pm): Focus on bringing your characters to life by recording voices and sound effects.
Afternoon (1:00 pm – 3:00 pm): Choose between mixing and rendering the soundtrack with Greg or making clay characters and learning about wireframes.
Closing (3:00 pm – 4:00 pm): Wrap up with a “Show and Tell” session where we’ll screen the film created over the workshop. Invite your friends and family to join the discussion and share your experiences.
