Hassan Mahenge is a multi-talented musician from Tanzania.He is a composer, multi-instrumentalist and Music teacher.
On stage Hassani Mahenge is a dynamic performer with extensive experience in cross-cultural collaborations,playing Oud,Alto saxophone and traditional percussion.
Hassani studied African, eastern and western musical styles He graduated from the Dhow Countries Music Academy in 2011 holding a diploma in music education in general.
He has collaborated with musicians across three continents,America, Asia,and europe.he has been working as a music teacher, and performer for many years so far.
He has been touring around europe performing in the biggest music festival as well as conducting master classes about East African music cultural agreements.
He is the former Artistic director of the Dhow Countries Music Academy in Zanzibar.
Currently Hassani Mahenge performs with Siti Muharram and Unguja All stars Playing Oud (Arabic lute)back vocal,and he is the band leader of the band.
Hassan Mahenge is also the soulful saxophonist of Wakorofi Jazz Trio, breathes life into the melodies with his virtuoso saxophone skills. Delving into the Eastern music tradition, particularly Taarab music and traditional drumming, Hassan’s saxophone solos bridge the gap between tradition and innovation. His musical prowess and dedication to preserving cultural roots make him an integral part of the trio’s enchanting sound.
